NEADA submitted testimony to the House Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies on April 9 that warned Congress that LIHEAP is in crisis. Between the Trump Administration eliminating the entire federal staff that oversees the program, delays in the final $387 million of fiscal year 2025 funding, and uncertainty surrounding the program in the face of rising temperatures and utility costs, the threats to LIHEAP are dire.
