HHS Releases $3.03 billion for LIHEAP, 90% of FY 2018 Funding

October 20, 2017 by Ashleigh Kinsey

The U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today released $3.03 billion in LIHEAP funding for federal fiscal year 2018 (FY2018). This release represents 90 percent of the estimated total FY 2018 appropriation.

HHS Dear Colleagues Letter on FY 2018 Funding Release

On September 8, 2017, Congress passed H.R. 601: Continuing Appropriations Act, 2018 and Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Requirements Act, 2017, which provided for funding of the government through December 8, 2017. This continuing resolution (CR) provided the same level of funding for FY 2018 as was appropriated in FY 2017. The final FY 2018 appropriation for LIHEAP will not be known until after a full FY 2018 budget is passed by Congress.
