HHS Releases FY 2014 Funds

November 4, 2013 by Ashleigh Kinsey

Dear Colleagues:

The Office of Community Services (OCS), Division of Energy Assistance (DEA), is pleased to announce the release of approximately $2.9 billion of Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 regular block grant funding to LIHEAP grantees.

This funding is provided under the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014 (P.L. 113-46) or 3CR2 and represents roughly 90 percent of the regular block grant funding provided in FY 2013. Please find attached a table detailing the allocations to grantees made by this release.

Grantees with completed FY 2014 plans will be sent award letters with their individual allocations.

Each state received 90 percent of the annual allocation provided under the CR. Each tribe and territory that submitted complete FY 2014 LIHEAP Plans and related reports also received 90 percent of the annual allocation provided under the CR.

We worked with our Federal partners at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Management Budget to release as much funding as possible, as quickly as possible. Should you have any questions or need any assistance from our office, please contact your liaison. To view their contact information on our web site, please click here.

Thank you for your patience during this time. We appreciate all of the work you do on the ground level in helping our most vulnerable members of society.

Sincerely,
Jeannie L. Chaffin
Director
Office of Community Services
