Join NEADA in celebrating National Energy Assistance Day on January 31, 2025. We are encouraging states, local agencies, utilities, and others to help us raise awareness about the importance of energy affordability and the programs that can help families struggling to pay their energy bills.
Use the hashtags #NationalEnergyAssistanceDay and #KeepTheHeatOn to spread the word about energy assistance on January 31. Use links to local LIHEAP providers, state program pages, or https://neada.org/billhelp/ to get people the help they need.
National Energy Assistance Day has three goals:
1) Raise awareness about the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, and other state and local energy assistance programs.
2) Encourage households that need help who may not be aware they are eligible to apply for LIHEAP
3) Strengthen partnerships between state and local LIHEAP offices, utilities, and other groups involved in energy affordability.
NEADA has developed the below toolkit to help our partners launch their own Energy Assistance Day efforts. We encourage you to select a few items from the toolkit to implement in your communities, and to come up with your own ideas for how to spread the word about energy assistance. If you participate, let us know! Send stories, pictures, videos, and other materials to info@neada.org so we can share how you are working hard to #KeepTheHeatOn on January 31.
