On Friday afternoon the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released approximately $3.32 billion in LIHEAP funding for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2020. The release represents approximately 90 percent of the FFY 2019 funding level of $3.68 billion. The 90 percent release is consistent with past years where Congress has not approved a full-year funding level for LIHEAP before the start of the fiscal year.
