The National Energy Assistance Directors’ Association (NEADA) is the primary educational and policy organization for the state directors of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP is a federal program providing formula grants to states to help low-income families pay their heating and cooling bills.
NEADA also works closely with the National Association for State Community Services Programs (representing the state weatherization program offices) and the National Association of State Energy Officials (representing the state energy offices) and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (representing the state public service commissioners), to more effectively share ideas on the delivery of state energy services through the Energy Programs Consortium.
